Our Massage Technique

Massage is one of the world´s ancient healing techniques, and today it is used as part of Alternative Medicine therapies to heal and alleviate different illness. Part of the roots of the massages arise with the Swedish physician Per Henrik Ling (1776-1839), who created a complete system of physical exercises named ´Ling´s System of Movement´ which combines exercise, massage, and sauna, with the objective to rectify and strengthen the body deficiencies.
The techniques of the Swedish massage used at Mundo Natural are used to eliminate tensions and reaffirm muscles and joints. The toning and relaxing effects of this massage favor blood circulation and toxin elimination, which helps the body regain its natural balance.
To develop his technique, Ling was inspired by his knowledge in anatomy, physics education, and fencing. Today, most of the occidental therapeutic massages modalities have their origin in the Swedish massage.

How It Works

Mundo Natural’s signature massage is based on the combination of 6 fundamental movements which produce the effects of accumulated toxins elimination by muscular tension, improvement of blood circulation, and tissue oxygenation.

These are the 6 principal movements in our massage:

EFFLEURAGE

These are movements over the body’s surface towards the heart, made with the palm of the hands open. It relaxes and prepares the body for the rest of the massage.

PAT

This movement enhances full-body circulation by kneading it in a very soft, gentle, and relaxing way. This softens even the deepest tensions.

ROLLERS

This technique involves soft and thick pinches to the skin as though the dermis was rolled to one point of the body to another. This promotes relaxation in external tissues and promotes draining of the lymphatic system.

DEEP FRICTION

These deep movements made with the fingertips over a specific area of the body produce a relaxing and sedative sensation. It also produces effective draining of the lymphatic system and elimination of toxins.

TAPOTEMENT

PRESSURE POINTS

Also known as percussion.
With cupped palms, the back and limbs are rhythmically and softly slapped. This stimulates the nervous system and body circulation to gently prepare the body to end the relaxation state of the massage.

Pressure is made where tension tends to accumulate, like the head, neck, shoulders, feet, and back. Pressing on these points produces a relaxing and relieving sensation.
